At a christening, we wish a child a safe upbringing and that they may find their place in the world. Giving the gift of a piece of rainforest carries this sentiment forward: it symbolises a good life, growth and responsibility.
With every square metre of protected rainforest, the contribution you make to the future also grows. A gift that lasts – and gains in significance year after year.
You decide how large the protected area you wish to give as a gift should be. Once you’ve made your donation, you’ll immediately receive a personalised certificate showing the exact geographical coordinates and an aerial view of the protected area.
Once you have made your donation, you will receive a personalised certificate featuring:
The certificate is available digitally and can be sent as a gift straight away or printed out – ideal for last-minute gifts too.
Unlike many material gifts, the protected rainforest is preserved for the long term. Even years later, the child can still track exactly where ‘their’ piece of rainforest is – using the map and coordinates on the certificate.
The result is a gift that grows with the child: it serves as a reminder that every life is part of a greater whole – and that small gestures can lead to significant conservation efforts.
Rainforests are so important to us because they are the most species-rich ecosystems on Earth. Countless species find a suitable habitat in intact rainforests. They are therefore incredibly important for species conservation.
Rainforests, along with their palm swamps and forest bogs, are also essential for a healthy global climate. They store huge amounts of CO2. They also cool the surrounding environment and ensure stable rainfall.
Rainforests also form an important part of our livelihood in other ways: many of our everyday products come from them, ranging from foodstuffs such as bananas and coffee, through to timber, and including personal care products and medicines. Furthermore, rainforests purify the air of exhaust fumes, filter water and maintain nutrient-rich soils.
