The gift that makes a difference

Year after year, companies find themselves wondering what the right corporate gift might be: gift hampers, red wine and chocolates can quickly come across as superficial and outdated. How about a new corporate gift for 2025 that really adds value? Many companies now prefer to launch meaningful Christmas initiatives, take responsibility and protect nature in a sustainable way. Are you one of them?

Give impact rather than symbolism and join us this year in protecting threatened natural habitats for good! On this page, we’ve put together some inspiration for your Christmas donations, staff gifts and client presents – as well as ideas for communicating your commitment.

A gift that will last a lifetime.

Give the gift of a donation this Christmas and protect a specific patch of rainforest in Peru or Canada in the recipient’s name – for ever. You’ll receive personalised certificates and the exact geographical coordinates, along with an aerial photograph of the protected forest area.

Share your passion – it’s inspiring.

Once you’ve made your Christmas donation, you can receive a media pack from us. Inside, you’ll find some great images that you can use on social media, in email signatures or on your website – all tailored to your chosen conservation area. If you’d like to receive the media pack, please contact Sarah Wiegel (below).

A Christmas campaign with a real impact

Would you like to link your commitment to nature with your products and, for example, ‘include’ 1 m2 rainforest with every order in December? Or perhaps you’d simply like to say ‘thank you’ to your newsletter subscribers at the end of the year?  We’ve got some great solutions: for example, digital codes that you can send out, which recipients can then redeem with us for rainforest!

Double community donations

Become true Impact Heroes this Christmas and double the donations made by the Wilderness Community up to a total amount you decide on. So you’ll turn 5 m2 into 10m2, 10m2 into 20m2, and so on!

Our partners take responsibility

We were proud to be able to give the gift of impact. By protecting 1 metre of temperate rainforest in Canada on behalf of our Canadian staff, Sephora Canada team members and creators, the conservation of old-growth forests and biodiversity became tangible, personal and easy to understand. It was a powerful way to bring our communities together around a shared commitment to nature conservation.

Our partnership with Wilderness International is based on a shared vision: to view sustainability not merely as an obligation, but as an opportunity to make a positive difference. We want to demonstrate that businesses can help shape real change – by taking responsibility and encouraging others to follow our example.

About Wilderness International

The foundation, which has offices in Peru, Canada and Germany, acquires wilderness areas in a legally secure manner and protects them for generations to come. These acquisitions are funded by donations, which ensure the long-term protection of the areas and enable environmental education projects and research into CO2 storage and biodiversity.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who receives the donation receipt?

As the donor, you will receive the donation receipt. We will send all the information and files to you.
  • What obligations do I have as a donor?

None at all. A donation is a one-time or recurring gift with no ongoing financial or legal obligations. Legal ownership of the land remains permanently with our registered non-profit entities to guarantee its protection forever.
  • How can we ensure that the protected area is preserved for all time?

In Canada, we are aided by the high level of legal certainty – or rather, the legal framework – and the penalties, which even prohibit trespassing, as well as the cultural and historical significance of property.

In Peru, we have also launched a forest ranger programme in collaboration with local people. We have put several measures in place to ensure long-term protection. Generally speaking, we visit the areas on regular expeditions to check that everything is in order. We also work with local partners who inform us if necessary. The donations per square metre also already include the costs of property tax.

The legal form of the foundation, unlike any other, allows a (charitable) purpose to be realised permanently and independently of external interests, thereby achieving the desired long-term effects. It is thus the most long-term organisational structure currently known. Not even states, companies or national parks are designed with such a long-term perspective. This makes the foundation the only organisation oriented towards the lifespan of the ecosystems we protect.

  • How do you work with the local community?

In Peru, for example, we work closely with local people as part of our forest ranger programme. They patrol the areas regularly and promote our conservation work within the community. For instance, they put up signs, talk to local people about our forest conservation projects and, where necessary, intervene to stop unauthorised access. In this way, the forest rangers also earn a sustainable livelihood.

In Canada, we not only work with partner organisations but can also look back on some fantastic collaborations with First Nations. These include a wilderness run and several nature conservation expeditions with the Cowichan of Vancouver Island, as well as our joint efforts to protect the Peel River Watershed with the Gwich’in of Fort McPherson.
