In eternal memory of the ecologist and wilderness conservationist Dr Maria Laura Tolmos.
Protect Marias Forest opens in a new tab

To Dr Maria Tolmos. For all eternity.

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Dr Maria Laura Tolmos – a scientist, conservationist, trailblazer and cherished friend. Her tireless commitment to protecting the rainforests, her thirst for adventure and her deep connection to the natural world have left a lasting mark on Wilderness International in Peru and Germany, as well as on countless people.

The forest, which we are protecting forever in her name, is her legacy. It will serve as a lasting reminder of Maria Tolmos, her work and her inspiration – and of the fact that her commitment to the rainforest will continue to have an impact long after her life has ended.
