What are the entry requirements?
To take part in the Environmental Ambassador Programme, you must be at least 14 years old and in Years 9–11. You or your school must have taken part in the Wilderness Run at least once. -
How can I apply?
When the next Environmental Ambassadors’ trip is planned, you’ll find the application forms available to download here on this page. Please email them to kontakt@wilderness-international.org by the specified application deadline. -
How are participants selected?
Participants are selected on the basis of a range of criteria. These always include the composition of the team, reliability, the ability to work well in a team, and suitability for an expedition in a wilderness setting. -
How much will it cost me to take part in the programme?
Taking part in the programme won’t cost you anything. You’ll receive a grant that covers all costs for preparation and follow-up activities, as well as travel. You’ll just need to budget for travel costs and, where applicable, accommodation for the preparatory weekends and events. You’ll also need to factor in the cost of any clothing and equipment you may need to purchase for the expedition.
We also ask all participants to raise a donation of €500 for the Environmental Ambassadors’ Forest with the help of their own circle of supporters.
-
How much time should I allow?
Whilst taking part in the programme, you should allow time for at least four weekends in total for preparation and follow-up work relating to the expedition. You will also need time to prepare your project – approximately XY hours per week. -
How often does an Environmental Ambassadors’ trip take place?
Environmental ambassador trips take place roughly every two years.
