Together with Wilderness International, we are safeguarding over 300,000 square metres of old-growth forest in British Columbia. A sanctuary for thousands of species – and they need us now.
For 1.5 CAD, you can protect one square metre of Canadian wilderness and receive a personalised certificate with the exact geographical coordinates of your plot. Become part of this movement – for genuine nature conservation.

Since 2012, we have been dedicating 1 per cent of our annual turnover to environmental protection – through the ‘1% for the Planet’ collective. In 2024, we decided to partner with Wilderness International. The organisation purchases land and permanently protects carbon-storing ecosystems. This is because, in the fight against climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions is not enough – we must also preserve and restore natural carbon sinks such as peatlands and old-growth forests. Our partnership demonstrates that we are serious about nature conservation.

About Wilderness International
It all began with a passion for forests filled with giant trees – today, Wilderness International comprises three sister foundations in Peru, Canada and Germany. With one major goal: to protect the last remaining unique forest and wilderness areas for ever.
To achieve this, we purchase wilderness areas with legally secure land registry entries and protect them for all future generations.
These purchases are funded by donations, which simultaneously ensure the long-term protection of the areas. They also enable environmental education projects and research into carbon sequestration and biodiversity.
Sounds good, doesn’t it?

-
How can we ensure that the protected area is preserved for all time?
In Canada, we are aided by the high level of legal certainty and the legal framework, as well as the penalties – which even prohibit trespass – and the cultural and historical significance of property.
In Peru, we have also launched a forest ranger programme in collaboration with local people. We have put several measures in place to ensure long-term protection. Generally speaking, we visit the areas on regular expeditions to check that everything is in order. We also work with local partners who inform us if necessary. The donations per square metre also already include the costs of property tax.
The legal form of the foundation, unlike any other, enables it to fulfil a (charitable) purpose permanently and independently of external interests, thereby achieving the desired long-term effects. It is thus the most long-term organisational structure currently known. Not even states, companies or national parks are designed to last that long. This makes the foundation the only organisation oriented towards the lifespan of the ecosystems we protect.

What obligations does sponsorship entail for me?
There are no further obligations on your part. The donation is a one-off payment and enables us, as a foundation, to ensure the long-term protection of the area. The sponsorship is symbolic. The woodland remains the property of the foundation. -
Will I receive the certificate as a printed copy by post or digitally by email?
You’ll receive the certificate digitally as a PDF via email. That way, you can decide for yourself whether you want to print it out and, if so, in what size. -
Who receives the donation receipt?
As the donor, you will receive the donation receipt. We will send all the information and files to you.
