Treasures for the rainforest

Fabian Kahl is coming to the Elbhangfest in Dresden with other antiques experts to appraise your treasures!

Update dated 30 June 2024

At the weekend, the moment we’d all been waiting for finally arrived: TV star and antiques expert Fabian Kahl, who had already joined us on our Peru expedition in March, visited us at our big valuation event in Dresden! Together with his “Bares für Rares” colleagues Julian Schmitz-Avila, Christian Vechtel and his brother Tobias Kahl, Fabian examined the items brought along by more than 250 visitors and discovered quite a few treasures in the process.

The press also visited us to speak to Fabian about his commitment and the importance of wilderness conservation. Reports have appeared in the Sächsische Zeitung, the Dresdner Morgenpost, DNN and Sachsen Fernsehen.

And the total amount raised by the end of the weekend is also impressive: visitors have helped protect a total of 2,731 m² of old-growth forest! We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved!

Fabian Kahl, the well-known antiques expert and TV star (ZDF, “Bares für Rares”), is coming to the Elbhangfest in Dresden on 29 and 30 June and, together with his brother Tobias Kahl, as well as Julian Schmitz-Avila and Christian Vechtel, is hosting two special valuation days.

Fabian and his fiancée Yvonne recently visited our conservation areas in Peru themselves, saw our work first-hand and experienced the beauty of the rainforest up close. Since then, the couple have been acting as ambassadors for Wilderness International and regularly highlight the importance of nature conservation on Fabian’s social media channels. Together with their fans, Fabian and Yvonne are also protecting their ‘own’ piece of forest – the Fabian Kahl Community Forest in the Secret Forest in Peru.

As part of the Elbhangfest, anyone interested can have their antiques valued by Fabian and his fellow dealers under the slogan ‘Treasures for the rainforest’ – and do something good for nature at the same time. The experts will professionally examine the items brought in, assess their value, offer advice and, where appropriate, even purchase them on the spot. Of course, you can decide for yourselves whether you’d like to sell your items there and then!

We would be grateful for a voluntary donation of €5 from all visitors who have their items valued. 100 per cent of the proceeds from these donations will go towards protecting the rainforest. Any waiting times can be passed by enjoying a drink and chatting with our team.

We look forward to welcoming lots of visitors!
