Event

The guessing days are entering their second round!

Fabian Kahl, the well-known antiques expert and TV star (ZDF, “Bares für Rares”), visited us at the Elbhangfest last year to examine the treasures of Dresden’s residents alongside his brother Tobias Kahl, as well as Julian Schmitz-Avila and Christian Vechtel, and to collect donations for forest conservation.

The event was so well received by everyone involved that the ‘Treasure Appraisal Days’ will be back for a second round at the Elbhangfest in 2025!

Last year’s total donations were impressive: visitors helped protect a total of 2,731 m² of old-growth forest!

As part of the Elbhangfest on 28 and 29 June, anyone interested can have their antiques valued by Fabian and his fellow dealers under the slogan ‘Treasures for the rainforest’ – and do their bit for nature at the same time. The experts will professionally examine the items brought in, assess their value, offer advice and, where appropriate, even purchase them on the spot. Of course, you can decide for yourselves whether you’d like to sell your items there and then!

We would be grateful for a voluntary donation of €5 from all visitors who have an item valued. 100 per cent of the proceeds from these donations will go towards protecting the rainforest. Any waiting time can be spent enjoying a drink and chatting with our team.

Fabian and his fiancée Yvonne visited our conservation areas in Peru last year, saw our work for themselves on the ground and experienced the beauty of the rainforest first-hand. Since then, the couple have been acting as ambassadors for Wilderness International and regularly highlight the importance of nature conservation on Fabian’s social media channels. Together with their followers, Fabian and Yvonne also protect their ‘own’ patch of forest – the Fabian Kahl Community Forest in the Secret Forest in Peru.

We look forward to welcoming lots of visitors!
